Mrs. Schamber has a Bachelors of Science in Education with a dual certification in Elementary Education (grades 1-6) and Early Childhood Education (birth-3rd grade) from Missouri Southern State University where she graduated in 2003. She earned her Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Drury University in 2007.
She has been teaching at Martin Luther School since the Fall of 2004. Mrs. Schamber is married to Jeremy Schamber, the principal, and they have one daughter, Olivia, and one son, Ezra.
She has always known she wanted to be an early childhood teacher; she grew up having young children around her all the time at her mother’s childcare.
Mrs. Schamber’s favorite teaching tools are technology (computers, interactive whiteboards, iPads), manipulatives, and children’s literature.
Her hobbies are her family, photography, digital scrapbooking, and traveling.
Mrs. Schamber’s goal for her students is for them to grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus as they talk about His word and the love He has for each of us, his children. She wants her students to grow academically as they learn through play, learning projects, and structured learning times. Her hope is that each child leaves her classroom eager to learn more about the wonderful world God has created for us.
Mrs. Schamber loves that she gets the opportunity to work with God’s wonderful children which he made unique and with a purpose. “I knew you before you were formed within your mother’s womb.” Jeremiah 1:5
One of her favorite parts of being a teacher and mother is she gets to rediscover the wonders of everyday life. While teaching and playing with young children they have a way of reminding you what truly matters in life. “If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.” Rachel Carson
Her favorite Bible verse is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
