Lyla Glaskey, middle school religion and social studies teacher, graduated from Concordia-Seward, NE with a degree in both elementary and secondary education. Prior to teaching at Martin Luther, Mrs. Glaskey served at Lutheran School Association in Cole Camp, Missouri and Immanuel Lutheran School in Washington, Missouri.
Mrs. Glaskey is mom is Samuel and Hannah, both proud students at Martin Luther. As a matter of fact, Mrs. Glaskey herself is an alumna of Martin Luther School. Mrs. Glaskey’s husband, Jason, serves here at Immanuel as Minister to Youth and Families. Her mother, Saundra Dover, was school secretary at Martin Luther for many years.
Mrs. Glaskey is trained in Love and Logic and enjoys presenting to parents and teachers. She also enjoys writing curriculum for Concordia Publishing House and writing a column on classroom discipline for Teacher Interaction magazine. Mrs. Glaskey serves on the Bible Study Team for the LCMS National Youth Gathering, and it is one of her favorite ways of serving the Lord.
Mrs. G loves working with middle schoolers. She thinks it’s exciting to work with students as they move from concrete to abstract thinking skills. She also feels honored to help students discover the strengths and talents God has given them. She strives to help students develop those gifts and find ways to use them to serve God and others.
