My name is Amanda Kessler, and I am looking forward to working at Martin Luther. I am originally from Northern Wisconsin, but have had a nomadic life while my husband, Adam, served in the Army; living in Washington, Texas, Alaska, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, and finally settling here in Joplin. I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Finance. I have worked as an elementary math and reading tutor as well as homeschool, having experience with Saxon Math and Khan Academy. Most of my experience is from volunteering in classroom settings, crisis hotlines, trauma prevention programs, and, my favorite, mentoring middle and high school robotics teams.
I have a passion for STEM education. I get excited while teaching math and science and enjoy the lightbulb moments when it finally clicks!
Personally, I have five children who range from 23 to 16 years old and a sheep-a-doodle named Loki. I like to read, knit, and quilt in my down time. I also enjoy hiking with my family.
