Mrs. Lyla Glaskey loves teaching middle schoolers, and has taught at Martin Luther for over a decade. Transitioning from childhood to early adolescence is a challenging time for kids, and she is dedicated to guiding them with understanding and compassion.
Mrs. G, as the kids call her, is a graduate of Concordia University- Nebraska, where she earned a Lutheran Teaching Degree and a bachelor's degree in elementary and secondary education with a concentration in language arts and an emphasis in social sciences.
Mrs. Glaskey has served in several Lutheran schools in Missouri, always at the middle school level. She has more than 20 years of experience in the classroom. She has written religion curriculum for Concordia Publishing House and been a columnist for a Lutheran ministry magazine. She has served in congregational, Missouri District, and National Youth Gathering ministries throughout her career.
Mrs. Glaskey has been married to Mr. Jason Glaskey for over 25 years. Jason is Minister to Youth and Families here at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Martin Luther School. They are proud parents of Samuel and Hannah, both graduates of Martin Luther School. She is also a dog-mom to Bailey the Wonder Dog.
